Orthopaedic and Athletic Injuries in Children and Adolescents

Registration is now open for the West Virginia Orthopaedic Society MidWinter Meeting to be held at the Marriott Town Center Hotel in Charleston on February 6, 2010. The program is co-sponsored by the CAMC Health Education and Research Institute and the West Virginia Athletic Trainers Association. Our theme is "Orthopedic and Athletic Injuries in Children and Adolescents." Please bring interesting cases for discussion with the films on CDs saved to run on PowerPoint 2003. Online registration is available and payment can be made through PayPal. Hotel reservations can be made by Janaury 18 by calling 304.345.6500 and asking for the WVOS room block. Rates are $103 per night plus applicable taxes.

The WV Association of Orthopaedic Executives will have a separate meeting including a discussion of benchmarking and practice issues.

Program Objective: 

Participants will be given practical information regarding the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries in children and adolescents.

It is the policy of the CAMC Health Education and Research Institute that any faculty (speaker) who makes a presentation at a program designated for AMA Physician’s Recognition Award (PRA) Category I or II must disclose any financial interest or other relationship; (i.e. grants, research support, consultant, honoraria) that faculty member has with the manufacturer(s) of any commercial product(s) that may be disclosed in the educational presentation. Program Planning Committee Members must also disclose any financial interest or relationship with commercial industry that may influence their participation in this conference. Information concerning faculty relationships with industry will be available on site.

Accreditation:

Physicians – The CAMC Health Education and Research Institute’s CME program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. The CAMC Institute designates this educational activity for a maximum of 5.75 AMA PRA Category I credit(s)TM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Athletic Trainers – This program has been approved for up to 5.75 continuing education units by the Board of Certification (P304).
Physical Therapists - Credit has been requested from the licensing board.

Pre-registration is open through January 29.
Please add $25 to all registrations after that date.
There are no refunds after January 29, 2010.
