The West Virginia Orthopaedic Society focuses its efforts on educating physician members on the latest information in the field so they can continually improve the level of care each patient receives. The Society seeks to educate the public on safety and accident/injury prevention. Members of the West Virginia Orthopaedic Society are continuing this tradition of concern with the diagnosis, care and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. Their scope of practice includes disorders of the body's bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. Before becoming members, each orthopaedist has completed four years of medical school and an approved residency in orthopaedics.

Highlights of Capitol Hill Visits

Orthopaedic physicians get people back to work and lives they love throughout life. In our visits to Capitol Hill, we asked legislators to help Americans face the challenges of bone and joint issues with unencumbered access to care. In the Senate, we visited with Senator Manchin (left) and Dr. Carole Pratt of Senator Rockefeller's staff (right). |

The 2012 MidWinter Meeting of the West Virginia Orthopaedic Society and the West Virginia Association of Orthopaedic Executives was one of the best received meetings in recent years. The meeting included golf, exhibit hall and reception on Friday, with a full day of exhibits and CME on Saturday, including our first Skype presentation. See below for photo highlights of this year's meeting. Based on evaluations from participants, we will most likely meet at Stonewall Resort in April of 2013. Complete details will be forthcoming later this year.
